How to be a successful College Student

College, it might be a big change for everybody after all it is really different from High School, but how can you manage everything college is throwing at you all at once? Here we have five useful tips that will help you all through your college career without letting anything behind. Have fun because this will be  some of the best years of you life if balanced correctly.

  1. Prioritize your time: Buy an agenda, use a big calendar and put it in your desk, use the color coding technique , use alarms in your phone, you name it there are endless possibilities for you to organize your time and do everything on time. Use your time wisely and don’t let anything or anyone left out.
  2. Budget your money: We can’t say this enough wether you are living with your parents or on your own one of the ways to save money is to pack your meals and snacks, avoid eating out a lot let that for once or twice a week or maybe for a special occasion. Don’t go crazy buying coffee every morning try making coffee in your home and maybe bringing it with you in a travel mug, if you work or receive any type of income try putting some of that money in a savings and emergency account. The Mint app is a really good resource to help you budget and don’t be scared to ask for discounts in stores and restaurants you will be surprised how many places offer discounts with just your student id.
  3. Remember why you are here for, you came to college to study. Yes, it is fun to go out and have a social life but don’t let your responsibilities aside because you want to go for happy hour on Wednesday before your 8:00 AM exam the day after.
  4. Get involved in campus by this we mean go ahead and sign up for clubs and associations, establish relationships with professors that can mentor you in your career, meet people that can be an asset to your college career, go to activities and start networking early.
  5. Be wise about who choose as friends in college, you will spend more time with them than with your family most of the time. Surround yourself with people that are good for you and not a bad influence.
