The temperatures are rising, and the skies are clearing. Each day we’re getting closer to… SUMMER!

Not only does that mean no school work or studying, but it also means rays of sun and lots of skin. It’s time to let go of those layering winter/fall outfits and switch in for some color and short everything. But wait! Is your body summer ready? No worries, here’s how you can prepare:

1. Wax, Shave, Laser Away! Since the weather’s getting warmer, you’re bound to want to wear some skirts, shorts and even sleeveless tops. When it gets even warmer, swimsuits and bikinis come out too. That means all of the pesky little hairs that mother nature has blessed us with have got to go.

Whether you decide to do a laser treatment, go to a waxing salon, or handle them yourself with a razor, make sure that your body is hairless when you decide to let out a little skin so that the sun can bounce off of your smooth clean-shaven body.

2. Dieting/Exercising Everyone wants to have an amazing beach body or the perfect hourglass figure to rock their sundresses. In order to get there, it takes hard work and dedication. That means watching what you eat and staying away from fatty-foods that go exactly where you don’t want them to.

Trade in your chicken alfredo for a Greek salad and factor in some highly active exercises (like sit ups and squats) and you’ll be set for your beach photoshoot.

3. Manicure/Pedicure Finally, you can wear you slides without socks and ditch the Uggs for some sandals. But first, make sure that your toes are prepared to see the light of day.

Go to the nail salon and treat yourself to a nice pedicure so that your feet can be soft and supple for when you decide to flaunt them. Pick your favorite color and different designs to make it fun.

4. Lotions/Sunscreen Sunscreen is important all year round , especially when the weather starts to heat up.  Protect your skin from the harsh UV rays with some sunscreen. Alba Botanica Hawaiian Sunscreen is SPF 45 and packed with green tea antioxidants and Aloe Vera to protect and nourish your skin. It also is water resistant (for your next pool party) and has a nice almost lemony scent that’ll make you smell like a Summer Dream. It also leaves that white overcast that most sunscreens do and leaves your body nice and moisturized. You need this for your next summer excursion.

Here are just a few ways to pamper and prepare your body for the summer weather bound to come. Regardless of if you follow these techniques or not, you’re bound to look gorgeous under the summer sun. The countdown to summer begins!

Hey girl, hey. Glad you stopped by my page today :) I am a student at the University at Albany majoring in English and a minor in Philosophy and Psychology. I know, its a lot.  I typically like to write about just about anything, and I'm really corny so feel free to make fun of all my cheeky commentary. Hope this is helpful to anyone who ever wants to just relax and learn something new.
