10 Concerts You Will Not Want To Miss This Summer

Let’s face it – this winter has been brutal. Between the massive amounts of snow and the below zero temps, we’re all itching for summer to arrive. The thoughts of beaches, campfires and much needed time away from school seems like a distant dream, but the semester will be over before you know it!

So along with your sunglasses, SPF and best friends, you’re definitely going to want to check out these big name acts on tour this summer! (Some tickets are already selling out, so you’ll have to act fast!)

1. Dave Matthews Band

Naturally, it isn’t a true summer if Dave Matthews Band doesn’t go on tour. Don’t miss your chance to see them hit the road this summer to play TWO full sets at each show!

Closest Venue to UAlbany: DMB will be at The Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC) on July 3rd and July 4th!

2. Ariana Grande

Ariana will be hitting the road with special guest, Rixton and Cashmere Cat on “The Honeymoon Tour” featuring songs from her Grammy nominated second album, My Everything starting in March!

3. 5 Seconds of Summer

The “Rock Out with Your Socks Out Tour” will support 5 SOS’s debut self-titled album. Their opening act is still to be determined, but they had The Veronicas accompany them while touring overseas so keep your eye peeled for their next surprise.

4. Taylor Swift

“Taylor Swift: The 1989 World Tour” is in full effect, and you know you won’t want to miss it! With 1989 being possibly her best album yet, her live show will not disappoint!

Closest Venue to UAlbany: Unfortunately, the closest arena T-Swift will be hitting to Albany will be the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ (approximately 2+ hours South) on July 10th and July 11th – but “Shake it Out!” because the long drive is sure to be worth it!

5. Wiz Khalifa and Fall Out Boy

“Boys of Zummer Tour” with Fall Out Boy and Wiz Khalifa is sure to be one of the coolest mashups of the year. Following the recent comeback album, FOB is hitting the road with Wiz this June!

6. Ed Sheeran

Hitting the road with a set full of songs including “Thinking Out Loud” and “Don’t” from his second album, Multiply, which has received platinum and gold sales in over nine countries, Ed has FINALLY announced his 2015 North American tour!

Closest Venue to UAlbany: Ed Sheeran will be at our very own Times Union Center on May 13th!

7. Imagine Dragons

The beginning of June will start off the “Imagine Dragons: Smoke + Mirrors Tour” hitting states all across the US! Imagine Dragons will be joined by acts Metric and Halsey!

Closest Venue to UAlbany: June 30th will bring the tour to the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn, NY!

8. Brad Paisley

Country fans all around will be ecstatic to get a ticket to see Brad Paisley hit the road this summer! He will be a part of the 2015 Country Megaticket, which grants you entrance into a bunch of separate concerts at certain arenas. One of the best value gigs of 2015 I can assure you!

Ticket Prices: $85 – $275 (Remember this is a ticket to three different shows!)

Closest Venue to UAlbany: SPAC will have Brad as a part of the “Megaticket” on July 28th!

9. Lady Antebellum

You’ll be able to catch Lady Antebellum two ways – included in the “2015 Country Megaticket” and on their own tour “Lady Antebellum: Wheels Up 2015 with Hunter Hayes & Sam Hunt”! Choosing which concert to get tickets for may be your hardest decision this summer!

Ticket Prices: $85 – $275 (Megaticket) or $35 – $80 (Personal Tour)

Closest Venue to UAlbany: SPAC will host Lady Antebellum on May 3rd as a part of the Megaticket sale, but if you want to see them along with Hunter Hayes and Sam Hunt you’ll have to travel down to Nikon at Jones Beach in Long Island!

10. Tony Bennet and Lady Gaga

Tony Bennet and Lady Gaga have made one of the most sophisticated albums of the year! The coming together of the duo’s different styles of music has produced an unexpected, yet delightful sound and everyone is excited to get a ticket to the short tour they’ll be doing this summer!
