It’s that time of year again. The Hallmark holiday of red hearts full of chocolate and bouquets of wilted Walmart roses is here once more. But instead of sitting alone and scrolling through Insta posts of laughing couples and smiling significant others, here’s a fun and free playlist that will cure any V-Day blues. Get your groove on, girl!

1. When Did Your Heart Go Missing? by Rooney

Ditch all thoughts of your ex and instead get down to this send-off swan song dedicated to all of those heartless SO’s.

2. Veranda (RAC Mix) by Cillie Barnes

This song is the hookup anthem, as it proclaims that you don’t need a label to have a good time. Stay empowered, ladies.

3. How To Be A Heartbreaker by Marina and the Diamonds

Listen closely, as Marina’s about to lay down some tips for every heartbreaker to learn and live by. And it’s catchy too? Win win!

4. Cameo Lover by Kimbra

Staying with the single ladies’ empowerment theme, Kimbra’s song Cameo Lover is about women breaking the mold of the men wearing the pants in the relationship.

5. Keep On Dancin’ by Ellie Goulding

All hail Queen Ellie.

6. I’m Not Your Toy by La Roux

La Roux does a fantastic job of stating that being in a relationship just to be in a relationship doesn’t end well for anyone. When it’s all false love and affection, it’s best to jump ship and embrace your singularity.

7. Diet Mountain Dew by Lana Del Rey

Ah, Lana. She just gets us. This oldie off her debut album is great for reminiscing on old relationships.

8. The Love Club by Lorde

Don’t get confused by the name, because for me this song is all about growing up and heading out on your own. Lorde takes a satirical look at her own ‘love club’ and comes up with a killer bop with catchy lyrics to boot.

9. Twisted Tongue by Misterwives

We all need a revenge song about that one ex that knew how to push all our buttons. Misterwives calls out all those old flames with this punchy sassy song.

10. Happy Pills by Norah Jones

Ever had a relationship that just won’t seem to end? Norah gets it. I promise you won’t be able to stop singing this around campus.

11. Everything’s Okay by Lenka

Let’s be honest, we all need to hear it sometimes. Quite possibly the cheeriest song ever, Everything’s Okay will get you out of your Valentine’s funk in no time.

12. Renaissance Girls by Oh Land

One of my all-time favorite songs, Oh Land reminds us how powerful and necessary the everyday female can be. Renaissance Girls is the ultimate girl-power anthem.

13. Take A Walk by Passion Pit

Sometimes you need to just get away from it all. Passion Pit describes the worst days ever in this song, and reminds us that sometimes all you need is to clear your head. Take a walk.

14. Trying To Be Cool by Phoenix

We can all relate to this song. Even though the lyrics don’t really make sense (only Phoenix can put flowers, binoculars, and cannibals in a song), I still adore the sound and attitude behind the thumping beats.

15. Get Over It by OK Go

OK Go is a killer band to begin with, but this song is the end to all pity parties. No matter how bummed you feel about this lovey-dovey holiday, OK Go is here to help.

16. Barcelona by The Plasticines

This all-girl band produced this dancey-rock song with the single girl in mind. It’s impossible not to jump around your room while listening to this.

17. The Wire by Haim

The perfect breakup anthem for when you’re just not feeling it. Sometimes you’ve just gotta end it.

18. I’m In Control by AlunaGeorge ft. Popcaan

AlunaGeorge’s latest release, I’m In Control is undeniably catchy and fun. Popcaan adds his own flair to the track making it a perfect jam for independent ladies.

19. Beat of My Drum by POWERS

The duo known as POWERS is at it again with this awesome dance track. You won’t be able to resist the urge to get on your feet and dance to this song.

20. Kiss the Sky ft. Wyclef Jean by The Knocks

If you’re a fan of The Knocks, you’ll love this collaboration with Wyclef Jean. This song’s out of the ordinary (in a good way) with its bumping bass line and hushed lyrics. You’ll be dancing all night.

21. Puzzle Pieces by Saint Motel

Rising stars Saint Motel produced this track about liking someone who just doesn’t seem right. Their lyrics are reminiscent of cheaters and liars, using plastic surgery as the perfect metaphor for this tune.

22. Gold by Kiiara

Remember Kiiara’s name in the coming months, as this girl’s headed straight to the top of the charts. Her debut single, Gold, is pretty confusing, but insanely addictive to listen to. Listen once, and you’re hooked.

23. Norwegian Black Metal by The Superhumanoids

Ignoring the strange title, NBM is an electronic hymn about embracing change. Remember ladies, change is a good thing.

24. Genghis Khan by Miike Snow

Genghis Khan combines the sentiment of Nick Jonas’s song Jealous with the image of a bloodthirsty thirteenth century conquerer. So basically what we’ve all been waiting for. (If you like Miike Snow’s song Genghis Khan, check out the music video featuring Bond-style villains, amazing choreography and a twist ending!)

25. Single Ladies by Beyonce

Come on. You knew this song would be on here. Happy listening, collegiettes!
