Q: What is your background and your current platform?

  • A: “I’m a junior majoring in international marketing from Harvest, Alabama, a small town outside Huntsville. I wanted to get involved in SGA to help drive positive change for students, but what I quickly realized as I served was that SGA wasn’t doing everything it could to impact certain groups, and that it was more like a country club for Machine members than a working system by which all kinds of students could see their needs met. That’s why I have strived to reach out to all kinds of people on campus and introduce proposals that are inclusive especially to those whose needs are currently not getting the attention they warrant. What I want most is to represent you – this is your campus, and until our SGA reflects who all of us are, it is falling short of the SGA you deserve. A few of my goals are to pass the Spirit of Alabama Act to provide the 250 poorest students with meal plans, to create an emergency fund for LGBTQA+ who are financially disowned by their families for coming out, build on the awareness we campaigned for by cracking down on sexual assault with a one-strike policy, to increase SGA accountability by creating a newsletter that would be hand-delivered to organizations across campus detailing what we’re working on, create an Office of Labor Affairs to provide student workers with a place outside their department where they can go to discuss any issues in the workplace, and much more. My full 17 point platform is on my Facebook page, where you can ask me questions or suggest something you’d like to see. This campus has grown so much and made so much progress in the last few years and I will work to push SGA to match that growth and more.”

Q: What is a fun fact about yourself?

A: “One fun fact about me is that my first language is actually Italian and I didn’t speak a word of english until I started pre-K and kindergarten there in Harvest.”

Q: What is your background and your current platform?

A:  “I’m incredibly proud of the work that I have accomplished over the last three years in SGA. For example, I was able to work with the university administration to give FAC funding an additional $70,000, giving students unprecedented access to the resources needed to pursue their passions. I want to be your SGA President because I want to continue this work, so that every student can be heard, valued, and most of all, be able call The University of Alabama HOME.

My HOME platform is comprised of four parts: Health, Opportunity, Memory and Empowerment. Centered around promoting a unified campus, HOME will give each student the power to take control of their education. For example, I will put in place “Student Empowerment Grants” that will give students access to resources, counseling and manpower to transform their ideas into action. By utilizing existing organizations and university resources, I will be able to expand the reach of SGA and make it relevant in every student’s everyday life. As President, I vow to always work for and represent the students that make this university my home. Roll Tide, Let’s Go and #VoteForMorr.”

Q: What is a fun fact about yourself?

A:  “A fun fact about me that I went skydiving two weeks ago to prepare for this campaign.”
