5 Easy Ways to Transform Your Dorm for Fall

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Alabama chapter.

It is officially the time of year when we can trade in our tank tops and short sleeves with cozy oversized sweaters and sweatpants. With fall season upon us, a great way to get into the mood is with décor! From burnt orange wreaths to spooky music, listed below are five simple steps you can take to transform your dorm, apartment, or home this fall.

Candles

Candles are an easy and simple way to get into the fall mood. Coming home from a long day with your home smelling of pumpkin spice or falling leaves is a great way to get your place ready for the season and to ensure your home smells of an autumn oasis.

Pillows

Adding a colorful accent pillow here and there is something that can really bring your living space to life! No matter what room it may be in your home, throwing in a quote or colorful fall pillow is something that can take your living space from bland to a seasonal haven.

Lights

Good lighting is essential, especially when creating an atmosphere with seasonal vibes. Try placing a string of lights somewhere visible from when you walk into the room. A good placement idea could be the kitchen or maybe even the bathroom

Wreaths

The perfect outdoor accent to completing your home decoration is with a fall wreath. You can even make it your own by adding simple pieces like colored glitter or miniature pumpkins.

Garlands

The accent of a garland on your staircase or even just hanging above your kitchen cabinets is one of the best ways to really tie your home together in a subtle way.
