November is here! Fall makes me want to cozy up on the couch with all 15 of my fall candles lit, and turn on all the Hallmark movies! However, if you’re anything like me, you can’t even begin to relax if you don’t have it all together. For us procrastinators, here are four ways you can get it together before a new week starts, and that way you can curl up on your *neat* couch.

All. Fall. Long.

tidy up your space

Start by making up your bed, putting items in their appropriate place, and you will already see a difference! If you’re feeling extra crazy, go ahead and throw some laundry in the wash! (Tip: You should wash your sheets once a week!) Once your bedroom is to your liking, transition to your common areas. Organize clutter, fluff some pillows, and run a quick vacuum over the floor! You’ll be amazed at how much better you feel once your space is neater. Small tasks to keep your space neat can be so beneficial for your mental health! Once you feel nice and neat, light up that pumpkin spice candle!

create to-do lists and fill in your calendar

One thing that can help organize life’s craziness is a planner. I’d be lost without mine. If you need to take it week by week, or even day by day, that is totally fine! Fill in dates with assignment reminders, project and paper due dates, and social events! You can also create a to-do list with pressing tasks or reminders. You will feel so much better once you can see your week at a glance, and writing things down also reduces the risk of forgetting important information!

Take a trip to the grocery store

A fully stocked fridge with all your favorites is a great way to start the week off. Going to the grocery store ahead of time can ease the weekly burden of deciding what to cook. Even if you don’t need a full restock, head over to Publix and grab some fresh fruit and your favorite ice cream for the week. Every meal is important, so make sure you have all the necessary items to fuel your body!

read and journal

Reading and journaling is so, so good for the soul. Before a new week starts and the demands of life pile up, take some time to be alone with yourself. There are so many reading options, whether you need something to calm anxiety, something to laugh at, or something to feed you spiritually. Whatever centers you the most, focus on that! Even if you only take 10 minutes out of your day to do this, reading and writing down your thoughts can reduce stress and anxiety!

Try some of these things before the week starts, and you will feel a dramatic change throughout your week. When your space and your mind are clutter free, you have so much more positivity to offer the world!
