Sure, the mall is a great place and wonderful if you need a bunch of things from rain boots and dress pants to speakers and massage chairs. But, it is still the worst, and here is why.

  1. People walk so slow

Like come on people! We live in New York so please walk like it or at the very least do not take up the entire hall so faster walkers can get by.

2. You will always see someone you know

…and if you do not move fast enough, they might try to talk to you. No matter the time of day, you will see people from high school, family friends, relatives, anyone and there is no way around it.

3. People just love to stop walking in the middle of the hall

When people finally get a good pace and we’re moving and grooving… they stop dead in their tracks. Which then ends up with someone almost running into them. All you have to do is slowly move to the side and stop there… I really do not think it is that difficult.

4. Stores are always either ridiculously hot or crazy cold… there is no in-between.

Most of the time I go into a store and it is about 90 degrees and makes me want to leave the store faster and not buy anything. So by having the store crazy hot and essentially pushing people out, they don’t spend money and the store doesn’t get money.

5. Pictures with the Easter Bunny

Easter is right around the corner which means the Easter Bunny is in the center of the mall. It’s adorable when little kids take pictures with him but let’s be honest… he is scary af and at the center of the mall so if you have to go from one end of the mall to the other, you will see him.

6. Expensive

Sure, it depends on where you shop but a majority of the time, malls are expensive. Don’t get me wrong, if I love or absolutely need something at the mall, I will buy it, but I would rather go to the outlet where I can get a much better deal.

7. Children’s Play Areas

Now I do not have children but you can guarantee that when I do, they will not be play in those little play areas at the mall. They are filled with germs and are just a center for who knows what kind of sicknesses.

8. Parking

Unless you’re going to the mall at 11am on a Tuesday, you will have a problem with parking. Either people will take up two spots or there is literally no parking and you end up parking in the complete opposite side of the mall. Not to mention the roads around the mall are always backed up.

Obviously I will still go to the mall because they have some great stores, delicious chinese food and of course Auntie Anne’s Pretzels, but that doesn’t mean I like going there. I will avoid the mall unless absolutely necessary.
