Q: What year are you in and what is your major?
A: I’m currently a sophomore, and I’m a Psychology major! However, lately I’ve taken an interest in minoring in either Marketing or HR Management.
Q: What activities/groups do you participate in at Adelphi?
A: Time to whip out the tour guide introduction! I like to think I’m pretty active here on campus, through the different activities I’m involved in! I work in the Office of Admissions as a Senior Admissions Ambassador, I’m the Media Director of the Student Activities Board, I’m the Public Relations Officer for the South Asian Student Association, and I’m a Commuter Assistant. In addition, I’m a member of C.A.L.I.B.E.R., and the Commuter Student Organization!
Q: Do you have any hobbies?
A: I’m a loser, and I just like to work. That was a bad joke, however, I do like to draw when I have the time! I used to draw all of the time, but lately I’ve been swamped with work, and it’s not something I get to do often. I also just bought a car, so lately I’ve been taking the time to learn more about how to repair a bunch of things, because you know, I’m a guy and I have to know how to do that kind of stuff sometimes…
Q: What’s your favorite part of/place at Adelphi?
A: As weird as it sounds, I love working in the Office of Admissions! I met a lot of people through that job, and it’s usually always an amazing time working there. I have some amazing friends there that always keep me laughing, and the Admissions Counselors are some of the funniest people that I’ve met!
Q: Favorite Adelphi memory so far?
A: I have to say, one of my favorite Adelphi memories so far would be getting promoted to Senior Admissions Ambassador in the Office of Admissions! It was actually really important to me because I actually felt like I was being rewarded for the work that I put into the department, and it was great to be noticed by my boss!
Q: If you can give any advice to incoming freshman, what would it be?
A: On tours, I usually tell incoming freshmen to step out of their comfort zone (as cliché as that sounds). When I came to Adelphi, I had zero friends since not one person from my high school came to Adelphi with me. By stepping out of my comfort zone and joining clubs, and getting an awesome job on campus, I was able to make friends and make the best out of my time here at Adelphi. Honestly, I always tell my tours, “If you don’t step out of your comfort zone and join things, you’re just not going to enjoy college.”
Q: Do you have any role models?
A: I have a couple of role models, some are current students here: Lauren Jacobson and Julianna Claase are just two of the biggest influences I had here at Adelphi. As for my main role model, I’d have to say that it’s parents. They always stood there for me when I needed someone there for me, and they never cease to give me words of encouragement when I need it. They’re always there to help people out no matter what, and I’m really proud to see what kinds of things they can do for our family even with the kinds of limitations that we have nowadays!
