Top Moments of the MTV Movie Awards That Got Us Talking
- Bad Ass Entrance
- Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Kevin Heart were this year’s host of the 25 MTV Movie Awards.
- First True Story Award
- This was a new category created for films that were based on true stories. And although Straight Outta Compton didn’t get an Oscar they can at least say they were the first to be awarded the True Story Award
- The Generation Award: Will Smith
- This year Will Smith was awarded the “Generation Award”. Where he thanked everyone and said that by this June he will be in this business for 30 years
- The Comedic Genius award: Melissa McCarthy
- Actress, Comedian, Melissa McCarthy was awarded this year’s Comedic Genius Award where she is the first women to receive this award.
- Dangerous Woman – Ariana Grande
- Ariana Grande preformed her newest single Dangerous Women wearing a mermaid style pink dress where she channeled her inner Marilyn Monroe wearing a dress similar to that Monroe wore in her 1953 classic film Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.
- The Newest Trailer for Suicide Squad
- The cast of the newest anti-hero team “Suicide Squad” introduced a new trailer for their film that will be in theaters this coming August
- Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Trailer
- Another trailer that was presented at the MTV Movie Awards was the newest film from the Harry Potter franchise starring Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterson, and Collin Farrell.
And this last one was my most favorite moment.
- Ryan Reynolds and Ed Skrein from Deadpool receive the award for best onscreen fight.
- These two gentlemen went on stage with their stunt coordinator for helping them with their roles with Ed Skrein saying “… those guys don’t always get the props they deserve”. Ryan Reynolds added “I just want to thank our brilliant writers, Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese… so I want to thank them and the hard working stunt performers all around the world these people are under appreciated and incredible so let’s thank them.”
