A few years ago, the hit MTV show Teen Wolf came to a close and many fans, such as myself, were very upset to say goodbye to a great show. Throughout the years, we have all been asking and potentially waiting for another season to come out but as each new year passed on, it was highly unlikely that would ever happen. Some cast members from the show for the past week have been posting behind the scenes from each season, bringing fans nothing more than nostalgia. But a few days ago, some cast members along with the main social media account announced that there will be a Teen Wolf revival movie.

For those who have not seen the show, Teen Wolf is about a high schooler named Scott McCall living in the fictional California town called Beacon Hills. Scott becomes the famed teenage werewolf of the series after he is bitten by an alpha werewolf the night before his second year of high school, drastically changing his once-ordinary life. The bite forces him to balance his new identity with his day-to-day teenage life and eventually help protect his hometown, which he learns is a beacon for supernatural activity.

After hearing the news of a revival movie in the works, the fans blew up with excitement as their prayers for more content had been answered after four years. The synopsis of the movie is as follows; “A full moon rises in Beacon Hills, and with it a terrifying evil has emerged. The wolves are howling once again, calling for the return of Banshees, Werecoyotes, Hellhounds, Kitsunes, and every other shapeshifter in the night. But only a Werewolf like Scott McCall, no longer a teenager yet still an Alpha, can gather both new allies and reunite trusted friends to fight back against what could be the most powerful and deadliest enemy they’ve ever faced.”  This has me wondering, will they pick up from the finale or will this be a completely new storyline?

Not only that, but the executive producer of the show and movie will also act as a showrunner for the spin off series called Wolf Pack. Based on the book series by Edo Van Belkom, Wolf Pack follows a teenage boy and girl whose lives are changed forever when a California wildfire awakens a terrifying supernatural creature and drives it to attack a highway traffic jam beneath the burning hills. Wounded in the chaos, the boy and girl are inexplicably drawn to each other and to two other teenagers who were adopted sixteen years earlier by a park ranger after another mysterious wildfire. As the full moon rises, all four teens come together to unravel the secret that connects them – the bite and blood of a werewolf.

The spinoff series does seem interesting but I’m way more excited for the movie, especially since it will have the OG cast I watched and loved for all of these years. The movie is set to come out on Paramount + sometime in 2022. The entire 100 episode series itself will be coming to Paramount + this December so if you plan on binging, you have the time till the movie comes out to enjoy!
