Staying in Touch in College

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Adelphi chapter.

College is tough already trying to stay afloat with academics, a social life and sleep.  When you start college you want to start making lasting memories and new friendships. You start to spend your weekends going out, shopping, and doing homework.  However; it becomes hard to keep up with our old friends and family that have been there since the beginning. Here are some helpful tips to stay in touch while in College.

First, never forget anyone’s birthday. A true friend has the time to do a shout out on Facebook or Instagram.

Michaels and AC Moore comes in handy. Check out Pinterest for ideas to craft for your family and high school friends to show how much you miss them and care.

Send a card for the holidays if you are running out of time to look for a gift, or short on cash.

Every once in a while send a text or a message on facebook to check up on how their day is going shows that you are thinking of them.

If you are a commuter, set up a day for friends and family so that you’re able to see them once a week and catch up with your crazy lives.

Lastly, you can always try the old fashion way and talk on the phone, or even try face to face through skype.
