As the leaves change color and the temperature decreases, it’s a reminder that the holidays are here again. It’s the most wonderful and stressful time of the year. But in case you’re in need of ways to prepare for thanksgiving, here are five ways to prepare yourself to avoid any hassles.

Make a grocery list– Making a list of what you need, can help you stay organized during the day of thanksgiving. A great thing to keep in mind is you can already start buying non-perishable items to keep in stock. This prevents going to the store during the most hectic times.

Create a dinner list– Write down the amount of people you’re expecting to arrive for dinner that day. Based on the amount of people, you can plan accordingly to what meals you should cook.

Make-ahead recipes– Creating recipes ahead of time can save a lot of trouble on thanksgiving. If you have an idea of what you want to make you can pre-make it and freeze it. For example, making the pie crust now would save a lot of time and make it easier to just add the fillings.

Buying Decorative items– Love decorating? It’s never too early to start buying ornaments or decorative plates to make your table and house feel like thanksgiving.

Clean out your refrigerator– As funny as it may sound, cleaning the refrigerator weeks before thanksgiving is extremely helpful. It helps you see what you have in your fridge and what you need. Not to mention, that there’s plenty of room for any pre-making dishes you may begin creating.

Whether you love the holidays or not, it’s always best to find tactics that can ease out the holiday craziness. It’s always good to keep in mind what the real meaning of the holidays is, which is spending time with family. Make sure to keep yourself organized and in spirit of the holidays.
