Looking for awesome places to hangout on one of the most exciting days of the year? Yes, Halloween is right around the corner and this day is all about having a good time with friends and enjoying many festivities. Here are some highlights of New York City’s biggest Halloween and fright night of the year!

On Saturday October 31st, NYC is hosting their 42nd Annual Village Halloween at 7pm. There will puppets, bands, music, dancers, and artists there! The catch is that costumes are a must in order to gain access in which the lineup is on 6th avenue and Canal Street. The theme this year is “Shine a Light” so definitely start brainstorming costume ideas!

If you’re looking to having a spooky night, check out Merchant’s House Museum on 29 E 4th Street between Bowery and Lafayette Street. Starting October 23rd, there are candlelight ghost tours of “Manhattan’s Most Haunted House” that many people believe is occupied by ghosts and spirits.

Webster Hall is also hosting an official Halloween parade after party where they promise a wild night filled with fun and cash! Well, the $5,000 cash prize goes to the best dressed of the night. There will also be a blood bath basement dance floor.

These are just some of the highlights for a great Halloween night out in NYC. NYC is one of the greatest cities on earth so Halloween is sure to be a fun celebration. Remember to have fun and more importantly, stay safe!

Hi, I’m Janelle! I am currently a senior at Adelphi University where I study criminal justice and sociology. I have always loved reading blogs and social media websites so joining Her Campus is definitely an exciting experience! I enjoy creative writing as I was a writing assistant for one of my professors this past year and I am also currently a research assistant for one of my other professors in the sociology department. As for my other involvement on campus, I am a sister in Delta Delta Delta and just recently joined the criminal justice club and caliber. I am aspiring to be an attorney and hoping to make a difference one day. In my free time, you can find me strolling the streets in Manhattan, hanging out with friends, and drinking Starbucks coffee.
