Q: What’s your year and major?

A: I’m a junior Communications major in the Honors College.

Q: What academic and extracurricular activities are you involved in at school?

A: I am a Senior Ambassador in the Office of Admissions, a sister of Delta Phi Epsilon, and a member of the Commuter Student Organization.

Q: What are your hobbies?

A: I love to paint, bake, and watch Netflix!

FUN Fact: Bats are my favorite animal.

Q: What do you love about Adelphi?

A: I love that Adelphi has this strong, close-knit community among its students and faculty. When I was looking for a college it was important to me that I would be more than just a number in a crowd – I would be a person, and that’s what you get here at Adelphi.

Q: What do you wish to do when you graduate? (What are your goals)

A: Even though I’m a Communications student, I want to be a Physician’s Assistant. So in addition to all my major classes and Honors requirements, I’ve been taking the prerequisites for PA programs!

Q: Do you have any role models?

A: I’m fortunate enough to be surrounded by many people that I could easily call role models for their strength, hard work, and determination in everything they do. But if I had to choose one person, it would be my mom. She is the strongest woman I know and she taught me to never give up on the things I love, even if it seems difficult at the time. If you want something, and you’re ready to work for it, you will achieve it.

FUN Fact: I once rode El Toro with Nick Jonas, which was probably the greatest thing that’s ever happened to me.

Q: What’s your favorite place at Adelphi?

A: My favorite place at Adelphi would have to be the Underground. It’s the best place to study or just hang out between classes.

Q: What advice would you give to incoming freshman?

A: The advice I would give to incoming freshman is to get involved! Getting involved gives you so many opportunities to meet new people, try new things, and even better your leadership skills. I would also tell them to not take their time here for granted. Everyone says that college goes by in the blink of an eye but it’s so true. In just a few short months I’ll be a senior, and it feels like I just got here. Take advantage of all the opportunities that being a student at Adelphi is granting you!

Q: What is your favorite memory at Adelphi?

A: My favorite memory at Adelphi would have to be orientation. I remember being so nervous to come, but I wound up having the best few days ever. I made so many new friends – many of which I’m still friends with now – and got to know so much about Adelphi.

Q: What do you think is most important in order to have a great college experience?

A: The ability to balance your schedule. You need to be able to work hard and do well, but you also need to know when to relax and have fun. Being able to balance the two is so important in having a great college experience because you’re getting the best of both worlds.

FUN Fact: I was once in a commercial about a new pavilion that was built in New Orleans, and it was really really embarrassing.

Q: What do you look for in a partner?

A: I look for someone who doesn’t take themselves too seriously. You need to be able to joke around and laugh a lot, because life’s too short to be too serious all the time.

Q: What would be the perfect date?

A: Going to one of those 50’s-style diners! They’re so cute and they always have the best food.

Q: Single or taken?

A: Single!

Hi I'm Liz!! I'm currently a sophomore at Adelphi University and I study communications. I strive to become a journalist or a news reporter someday. Besides being a contributor for HerCampus and studying communications, I have a passion for martial arts and criminal justice. I also love babysitting so I obviously love kids and something I may also do is become a teacher. One fun fact about me is that  I have been studying Ju Jitsu for the past 12 or 13 years and I am currently a second degree brown belt.
