Santa Clause is finally coming to town.  As we drive by our neighborhoods and see the brightly lit houses, a few things come to our minds; all of the great holiday movies we can watch as we wrap gifts. If you’re in a desperate need of laughing, or in need of a break from finals, here are five holiday movies that will cheer you up.

1.     A Christmas story- “You’ll shoot your eye out!” This holiday classic never gets old with its quirkiness and sarcastic humor.  On Christmas Eve, you have the opportunity to watch it on its 24-hour marathon.

2.     Elf- Who doesn’t enjoy watching Will Ferrell and Zooey Deschanel singing? This holiday movie will not only make you laugh, but it will make you quote its catchy phrases.

3. Polar Express- This holiday movie is about a doubting boy who goes on a self discovery trip to the North Pole where he learns what Christmas is all about. He encounters many people who help him not only believe in himself but in the spirit of chirstmas as well.

4. Home Alone 2- In need of a childhood memory? Watching home alone will definitely put you in the christmas spirit and possibly make you crave pizza. This movie will remind you of the 90’s and how much things have change.

Last but not least,

5. A Charlie Brown Christmas- Who doesn’t love the peanut family? Charlie always reminds us what the holidays are about with his creative ideas.

Whether you’re going away for the holidays or are staying home with your family, it’s the perfect time to destress and enjoy the holiday cooking. Holiday movies and sleep await you!
