Ask Adelphi: What Have You Missed Most About Adelphi?

Welcome back panthers! While entering campus for the first time in nearly three months, our 
 
brains start to wake up from summer vacation mode. Let’s put the parking, and construction noise 
 
behind us to think about the great qualities of the University. So, what have you missed most about 
 
Adelphi? 
 
Returning students Dayna Marie and Adisa Velovic both say they missed their friends and 
 
weekly events. “I missed all the volunteer opportunities that the Center for Students Involvement 
 
offers! I can’t wait to start volunteering again with them.” stated sophomore Carolyn Garcia. As for the 
 
freshman who have nothing to miss, they sure have a lot to look forward too. Jessica D’onofrio says she 
 
is looking forward to making new friends and getting involved.
 
Although it seems that students can’t wait to get as far away from campus as possible, there 
 
are things about Adelphi that are impossible to forget, even after commencement. “I miss being part of 
 
a close-knit community. I got to work with so many wonderful students, professors, and staff. They all 
 
pushed me to be the best version of myself. I definitely miss being around that.” says Rachel Voorhees, 
 
class of ’14 graduate. 
 
If this question is challenging for you to answer, take the time to find something that stands out 
 
on campus. Even if it as simple as “the view” that student Brian Jennings says he missed. Who wouldn’t 
 
appreciate the beautiful greenery that happens to be an official registered botanical garden? Bet you 
 
didn’t know that! Good luck and have a great fall semester.
