Thanksgiving is right around the corner and that means not only an abundance of delicious mouthwatering food but a much needed break from classes. Hallelujah!
Her Campus wanted to know what the Adelphi Panthers are thankful for.
Majority of students responded with “FOOD!” Well….duh….who wouldn’t be thankful for food? Some of the favorites were Chipotle, Panera Bread, Pizza, and all the home cooking we can’t wait to devour later this month.
Can’t forget about the desserts and treats special to the season. Plenty of responses were, “Gotta love the pumpkin spice latte and salted caramel mocha.” Thanks, Starbucks. What would we do without your seasonal specialties?
“I’m thankful for the return of American Horror Story.” Hell yes, me too! AHS is one of the most popular television shows of the fall season every year. A blanket, hot coco, pajamas, and a freak show. The perfect Wednesday night.
“The new lush products.” Lush cosmetics has a range of products that are released special to this time of year. Everything smells like an explosion of Christmas and leaves mixed with cinnamon and apples. Whatever kind of autumn smell you can think of is probably in the form of a bath bomb. So yeah, I guess there’s a reason to be thankful for lush. Especially after a week of midterms, a relaxing bath doesn’t sound too bad to me.
“My car.” Yes, a commuter’s bed between classes.”
“I’m thankful that midterms are over.” Same girl same.
“1989.” No, I don’t mean the year 1989, I mean the new Taylor Swift album. A few “Swifties” on campus wanted to show their love for the new music T-Swizzle just blessed the world with. Next question, are we out of the woods yet?
“My girlfriend”, “My boyfriend” :) – I think this is self-explanatory for anyone in a relationship. Go and tell your boyfriend or girlfriend why they are special. Right at this moment!
“I’m in love with you, and I’m not in the business of denying myself the simple pleasure of saying true things. I’m in love with you, and I know that love is just a shout into the void, and that oblivion is inevitable, and that we’re all doomed and that there will come a day when all our labor has been returned to dust, and I know the sun will swallow the only earth we’ll ever have, and I am in love with you.”
Sorry, I just had to.
It was heartwarming that nobody had forgotten to mention how important their family is to them. “My friends, my family, and my life.” The best answer. If you’re away at school I am sure Thanksgiving break is going to be reunion time. Either way it’s a time to enjoy the company of the people who mean the most to you.
