And so it begins! The time in which we pack away our bathing suits and bring out our bookbags because school is back. It can be tough to get back into the swing of things after months of relaxing, so here are some tips in order to stay organized to ensure an easy transition and a great semester!
1. Planners & CalendarsÂ
These two tools are great for keeping organized. It allows you to plan, which encourages good time management. You should always know what’s coming up ahead, whether if it’s an assignment, a meeting or an exam. This will avoid last minute cramming and hopefully procrastination. Weekly to do lists can be helpful for this as well, which can be kept in your planner.

2. Organize Your Computer FilesÂ
Is the desktop on your laptop looking cluttered? Organize it! I personally make folders for each of my classes. This makes it super easy when I need to retrieve any old assignments. Also, less clutter provides for a friendlier and more productive work enviornment. This also goes for your workspace, such as your desk.Â
3. Prepare the Night Before
Those mornings in which you’re scrambling around for things last minute are awful! This causes a stressful morning and can usually make you late to your destination. The best tip for this is to prepare everything you need the night before. This goes for both food and clothing as well. Prepare your bag, your cute outfit and a nice lunch and snacks. This will make your morning go much smoother.Â

4. Class NotesÂ
Not only should your class assignments be organized but also your class notes. Whether you write them or type them, keeping them organized is best. You can do this with paper clips, color coordinated paper or ink, folders, notebooks, index cards, etc. Whatever works best for you. The key is to keep each class separated as it should be. Things can get lost or confusing otherwise.Â
5. Meditate
Most importantly, organize and tame your thoughts. Meditating is great for this. Your mental health affects everything you do so make this a priority as well. Maybe you’re nervous for going back to school or you’re nervous for an exam, meditate! It will help relax you and everything else will fall into place with a positive and relaxed mindset.Â
Have a great semester!Â
