The first charges in special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into whether or not Russia meddled in the 2016 election (and whether President Trump’s campaign team had anything to do with it) have officially been filed as of Friday night.
CNN reports that, while the charges are still sealed under orders from a federal judge, those charged could be taken into custody as early as Monday, October 30. In addition to who exactly is being charged, it is also still unknown what the charges will be.

Both lawyers representing Trump, Donald Trump Jr, former campaign manager Paul Manafort, former national security advisor Michael Flynn and Jared Kushner, as well as a spokesman for Mueller’s office, have declined to comment.
“Know nothing,” John Dowd, one of the POTUS’s lawyers told BuzzFeed News in an email.
The investigation, which former FBI Director James Comey began in July of last year, is looking into possible Russian meddling in the 2016 election, as well as whether the Trump campaign colluded with the Russians. In May of this year, Trump’s firing of Comey raised questions about whether the President had obstructed justice by firing the official leading the investigation into his campaign.
Meanwhile, as BuzzFeed reports, Trump has called the investigation and all allegations of his campaign’s ties to Russia, a “witch hunt.”
Hopefully we will finally get some answers this week as these first charges in the investigation are made public.
