Dunkin’ Donuts Is Discontinuing the Coffee Coolata & People are Devastated

If you love Dunkin Donuts’ Coffee Coolata as much as I do, get ready to be devastated. According to the company, it will be phased out over the next several months and be replaced with something called “Frozen Dunkin’ Coffee.” Yeah, the name is definitely not as awesome as “Coolata.”

The Coffee Coolata has been on the Dunkin Donuts menu for years, and Dunkin’s director of culinary innovation, Paul Racicot said, “we believe it’s time we… contemporize our frozen platform,” according to Fox News. His sentiment is shared by Chris Fuqua, the senior vice president of the brand, who said the Coffee Coolata “isn’t good enough,” and that the new Frozen Coffee, which has a stronger coffee flavor, is much better.

But people on Twitter don’t seem to care much for contemporization, because they’ve been showing up for their beloved Coffee Coolata. There was massive backlash after the announcement was made.

For people who love the fruit-flavored Coolatas, have no fear. Thankfully, those are staying on the menu.
