4 Companies Offering Free Services Right Now, Proving That There Is Good In the World

In the last week, the rapid spread of Coronavirus (or COVID-19) has resulted in colleges switching to online classes, students having to move off campus, and study abroad programs being canceled. While the reality of the situation is grim, there are people and businesses coming together to offer services that can help those in need. Read on to have some faith restored in humanity, and the future.

This line of fitness apps are now free.

Down Dog App, which offers studio-like fitness classes from your phone is now waiving their fees. Their website reads, “Due to the current outbreak, many people are avoiding gathering in large groups, including at yoga studios and other fitness spaces. We believe that stressful times like these are precisely when people need wellness practices the most, and we are committed to doing our part to help out.” Their apps — Down Dog, Yoga for Beginners, HIIT, Barre, and 7 Minute Workout — will be free until April 1st.

U-Haul is offering 30 days of free self-storage.

With college campuses across the country requiring students to vacate with little notice, it’s become increasingly difficult to make arrangements for their belongings (and themselves). Because of it, U-Haul is offering 30 days of free self-storage to students in these situations.

Comcast will offer free internet to low-income households.

As of March 16, low-income families living in a Comcast service area can sign up to receive 60 days of free internet. This is part of their Internet Essentials service, which is normally available to qualified households for $10/month. To enroll or learn more about the program, visit the Internet Essentials website.

Blaze Pizza is extending their Pi Day offering to be year-long.

While Pi Day is on March 14, Blaze Pizza is extending their celebratory offering for all of 2020. In response to concerns regarding COVID-19 and public gatherings, they’re altering the event. Instead of being required to redeem their $3.14 pie offering in-store, you can get an 11-inch pizza pie anytime between March 16 and December 31.
