Happy Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month! Her Campus Co-founder Annie Wang here. I wanted to share a few of my favorite AAPI-owned small businesses to follow and my go-to products that you should ~add to cart~ immediately! I truly love each of these brands and what they represent, and I hope you’ll find a few new favorites among these, too. I am thankful this month, and every month, for the invaluable contributions of beauty, utility, and mindfulness that these AAPI founders and their businesses bring to the world. Enjoy!

For quirky art prints, check out @thefliang

I discovered Felicia Liang, a Taiwanese-American artist, when looking for new artwork to decorate my apartment. She offers a wide range of fun digital and hand-illustrated prints inspired by some truly iconic aspects of Asian American culture, especially Asian cuisine! If you’re a fan of pop art, I recommend this Lichtenstein-esque print that I gifted to my sister-in-law. I’ve scooped up twelve of Felicia’s prints so far, and I’ll definitely be back for more.

For unique gifts, check out @poketo

Poketo is an AAPI husband-and-wife-owned boutique that sells everything from home decor to apparel to stationery. Everything is eye candy, and that makes Poketo perfect for gifts! In fact, I’ve snagged a few sets of the minimalist storage box set for gift-giving! If you’re into the squiggly shapes trend, pick up this brass bookmark or this bumpy candle – so chic.

For a tea that gives back, check out @tahminatea

My favorite thing about Tahmina Tea is their incredibly inspiring mission and impact. The founder of Tahmina relocated her entire life to Afghanistan to grow the market for sustainable, ethical saffron agriculture and export as an alternative to the conflict-ridden drug cultivation industry. As it turns out, the world’s most expensive and luxurious spice – saffron – makes for a divine cup of tea! Try their unique and bold Saffron Chai, and know you’re making an impact in the process.

For ethical, dainty jewelry, check out @siizu_official

SiiZU is an Asian-American founded label that offers ethical, sustainable, and affordably priced apparel, accessories and jewelry with an intensive, uncompromising approach to low-impact sourcing and manufacturing. Their Gracie Donut Earrings are an all-time fave that I discovered on a quest to find the perfect porcelain drop earrings…as one does!

For hand-poured wood wick candles, check out @wearesundayclub

Founded by my friend and former Her Campus editor Alice Chen, Sunday Club celebrates the moments and spaces we create for ourselves – to create, to rest, to grow, to learn. Beautiful packaging, gorgeous scents, wood wicks, and a natural blend of coconut and soy waxes…these candles have it all! Personally, I love a citrus scent; try the Wild Orange candle and be transported to the Spanish countryside.

For spicy hand-pulled noodles, delivered, check out @xianfoods

One of my all-time favorite Chinese restaurants is Xi’an Famous Foods, which serves family recipes of foods from Xi’an, China. Whenever I’m in New York City, I make a point of stopping by for a plate of their famous hand pulled noodles. Luckily for us all, Xi’an Famous Foods has started shipping meal kits so we can all enjoy from wherever we are (and have a hand in assembling the feast, too)!

For custom stick-on gel manicures, check out @manime.co

ManiMe co-founder Jooyeon Song has created a way to make manicures incredibly accessible, hygienic and convenient by offering custom printed stick-on gel manicures you can apply in a matter of minutes – and swap out just as easily. I had such a hard time choosing from their huge collection of super cool designs, and ended up loving the two sets I chose. I wore the Crossword design for a bachelorette party, and Delicate Petals to film Her Campus’s To The Future: Graduation 2021 event, and I can’t wait to try even more designs!

Amanda is one of my favorite YouTubers and the hands down queen of bullet journaling, doodling, and all things creative (I could watch her YouTube videos all day)! She gives amazing, real advice on organization, creativity, wellness, and of course, setting up the perfect, most beautiful and functional bullet journal. She recently started her own line of stationery supplies, Shop AmandaRachLee, and while it’s hard to pick a favorite out of all the cuteness, her washi tapes are a great place to start!

For eco-friendly cleaning supplies, check out @blueland

Blueland is on a mission to reduce single use plastic, and make cleaning products that are convenient, effective, and affordable. They innovated new form factors – like concentrated tablets for surface cleaners – that you can drop into a reusable spray bottle of water, which is good for the environment and decluttering your tiny space! I picked up one of their Starter Kits a couple years ago, and am still going strong with their tiny refill tablets! Plus, follow Blueland founder and my friend Sarah Paiji Yoo on Instagram for her helpful, accessible, and totally doable tips on living a more sustainable lifestyle.
