For years, he was our middle school selves’ favorite boy next door while she was the Queen Bee whose drama we followed incessantly. As of today, The O.C.’s Adam Brody and Gossip Girl’s Leighton Meester are now engaged.
Brody, 33, and Meester, 27, had been friends for years before they began dating in January. After 10 months of being crazy about each other, Brody surprised Meester with his proposal and now the two are set to be married next summer.
The actors met on the set of independent film The Oranges in 2011, striking up a very close friendship that took two years to become a romance.
Before Meester, Brody famously split from O.C. co-star Rachel Bilson in 2010. Meester also dated Gossip Girl co-star Sebastian Stan before she was linked to actor Aaron Himelstein last year.
After seeing their on and off-screen romances take a tumble, we’re more than ecstatic for Seth Cohen and Blair Waldorf to tie the knot! Here’s to having our teen dreams come true!
