What 20 Her Campus Editors & Writers Are Buying Themselves This Holiday Szn

For the past couple of years, I’ve known it’s officially the holiday season when I start seeing cool girl gift guides and unrealistic wish lists flood my TikTok FYP — and I absolutely eat them up. I love seeing what other people are asking for or what they’re getting for their friends, family, roommates, sorority sisters, partners, dogs — whoever, really. Not only does it give me major inspiration for what to get for my BFFs or SO, but it also makes me add (waaaaay too many) things to my own holiday wish list. But honestly? I’m not complaining.

This holiday season, I asked a bunch of Her Campus editors, national writers, and editorial interns about what they’re buying for themselves for the holidays — because it’s 2022, and it’s the perfect time to treat yourself, bestie! While some editors and writers are just getting themselves a little something for the holidays, others have been saving up their coin and are ready to splurge (and as they should!). From fancy espresso machines to cozy lingerie sets to yummy hot chocolate-scented lip balms, here’s what 20 Her Campus editors and writers are buying for themselves this holiday season. BRB, because I think this list just inspired me to add a couple more goodies to my holiday wish list.

AMazon Kindle ($100)

“After dropping a bunch of money on physical books that I still haven’t read, and with my studio apartment space being so limited (I only have so much shelf space to store books!), I think an e-reader might be the way to move forward. Plus, I’m hoping making this bigger purchase for myself will motivate me to read more, which is one of my New Year’s resolutions. (Is it too early to talk about those yet?)” — Erica Kam, editor

WAnderlust Beauty Holiday Mystery Scoop ($45)

“This indie beauty shop is awesome, and I adore the fact that I am getting a little gift for myself and I don’t even know what fun beauty products I’ll get!” — Maria Serra, SEO editor

Fenty Skin Cookies N Clean Whipped Pore Detox Face Mask ($32)

“Life and school have been stressful lately, so I thought I would treat myself to a new skin care product to help with my self-care!” — Katherine Francis, national writer

L.L. Bean Sherpa Fleece Jacket in Emerald Spruce ($99)

“I’m all about being cozy this holiday season, and what better way to achieve that than with this sherpa jacket from L.L. Bean? It’s a great transition piece as we head into the colder months, and is so freaking soft — I may need to buy more than one color!” — Allison Piwowarski, director of content strategy

Sony Wireless Noise-Cancelling Headphones ($350)

“I rarely treat myself and still use a pair of wire headphones with a dongle. I’ve been saving for a while and can’t wait to invest in a pair so I can blast Phoebe Bridgers in HD sound.” — Julianna Marie, associate editor

Kodak Professional Porta 400 Film ($65)

“For two years now, I’ve asked for film for Christmas. A few years back, [I was] going through my grandpa’s old stuff and I found this old Minolta film camera. I fell in love with it, but I never bit the bullet on buying film for it. However, this year I’m treating myself to film and I’m going to start taking pictures in my grandpa’s memory!” — Hannah Tolley, national writer
