THE HC TEAM WEIGHS IN: Our Favorite Part About Going Back to School

August means a return to school! FINALLY! As the final days of summer wind down, all we can think about being back in our college towns. So for now, we’ve got school on the brain and we’re sharing the reasons why we love coming back to college!

And as always, share with us what you’re looking forward to by leaving a comment below!

My favorite part of going back to school is buying fresh notebooks empty of any notes (and throwing out the old notebooks, of course!). I get excited about taking new classes, knowing that I’m getting a couple credits closer to finishing!
– Serena Piper, Campus Correspondent, University of Oregon

Getting a fresh start! It’s fun to see everyone and start new classes and live in a new place. I’m really looking forward to making the most of my senior year!
– Erica Avesian, Contributing Writer, University of Michigan

Believe it or not I actually really enjoy being able to be back on a routine! Also getting to see friends for the first time in three months and enjoy the best things about my favorite season: football games and Starbucks pumpkin spice lattes!
– Alexa Johnson, Campus Correspondent, James Madison University

I absolutely love back-to-school shopping. I love looking for new clothes, shoes, and even school supply shopping! My favorite things to shop for, though, are new things for my dorm or apartment.
– Jenna Fanduzzi, Campus Correspondent, Marquette University

I love being reunited with my friends and my roommate! I also look forward to new classes, new professors and a fresh start.
– Elizabeth Schmitt, Campus Correspondent, Mount Holyoke College

I love new starts! Forget the past relationships and past grades from last semester and start over! I love buying new school supplies, especially a new planner. I love picking out a first-day-of-school outfit as if I were still in elementary school. I love making new friends even though I thought I already had plenty. I just love the newness of it all. It’s a time for making goals and hopefully keeping them. It’s a time to prove yourself. It’s a time of adventure and not knowing what may happen this year. It’s almost like a time to reinvent yourself.
– Taylor Bass, Campus Correspondent, Wellseley College

Buying new school supplies! The 3rd grader inside of me still loves the joy of buying $1 highlighters and 50 cent notebooks. All the new supplies signifies a fresh start, which we all need sometimes.
– Alexandra Pannoni, Campus Correspondent, Towson University

Moving back into my apartments. My roommates have really become my best friends, and it’s so nice to be around my support system again.
– Kenyatta Giddings, Campus Correspondent, University of Texas
