Warning: This article may cause you to be very, very hungry

I LOVE Whitey’s Ice Cream. Whitey’s Ice Cream started in the Quad Cities (Illinois and Iowa) and now is in various locations in Iowa — one being Iowa City. I love their Viking Pride, a peanut butter flavored ice cream with Oreos® and fudge swirled through. Even though it’s for Augustana College, I’m a huge fan of it.
Nicole Lumbreras, Campus Correspondent, University of Iowa

I LOVE the coffee Oreo flavor at JP Lick’s in Boston. I can’t think of a better way to combine my favorite desserts — ice cream and Oreos! It’s best in a cup with chocolate sprinkles on top!
Chelsea Evans, HR Intern, Tufts Alum

Soft-serve chocolate — plain and simple — is the absolute best. No mix-ins, no toppings. It reminds me of my mommy-daughter dates to Dairy Queen when I was a little kid! I know fro-yo is all the sorority-girl-rage, but I think good ‘ole soft serve will withstand the passing phase.
– Hannah Kay Hunt, Campus Correspondent, Wake Forest University

I can’t pick just one since ice cream is by far one of my all time favorite foods! But if I had to narrow it down to two, I would have to say just about all brands of mint chocolate chip or Ben and Jerry’s Americone Dream — Stephen Colbert’s ice cream.
Nicole Ro, Campus Correspondent, University of Southern California

Haagen Dazs Chocolate Chocolate Chip takes the cake. They actually discontinued the flavor not too long ago, but a quick search revealed that it is now back on the market. I’ll keep my eyes out!
– Jake Duhaime, Publicity, Emerson College Alum

My favorite kind of ice cream is super simple — vanilla soft serve! Some of the best vanilla soft serve I’ve had is on Cape Cod in Provincetown. A local shop called Lewis Brothers makes the best cone of vanilla soft serve with rainbow sprinkles anywhere! It’s basically summer on a cone :)
– Valentina Palladino, Contributing Writer, Syracuse University

Ben & Jerry’s Half-Baked ice cream is the embodiment of summer! A perfect blend of cookie dough and brownie, it reminds me of warm nights with my friends back home in Rhode Island.
– Gennifer Delman, How She Got There Editor, Hofstra University

Vanilla! Don’t accuse me of being boring; vanilla is the little black dress of ice cream flavors: essential, reliable, versatile, and never, ever underrated!
– Annie Wang, Co-founder, CTO, Creative Director, Harvard

I love ice cream from the Bent Spoon, a cozy little artisan ice cream shop in Princeton. They have some pretty unique flavors: basil, olive oil, and chocolate earl grey, to name a few. My favorite flavors include lavender mascarpone, hazelnut, and Greek yogurt with walnuts topped with honey! It’s where my friends and I go for study breaks and Bent Spoon run never fails to put a smile on my face!

My favorite ice cream is the mint chocolate chip ice cream at a little place in Lake Tahoe, CA. My entire family vacations there every year — we have been going since before I was even born — and we get ice cream from the same place nearly every day!
Allie Duncan, Contributing Writer, University of Missouri

Nothing beats orange sherbet with chocolate chunks on a super hot summer evening. Of course, it’s best when you stir it all up until it’s milkshake consistency.
– Sarah Weinberg, Contributing Writer, San Diego State University

I have a weakness for Friendly’s mint chocolate chip ice cream with gummy bears. I usually ask for gummy on bottom of the cup/cone as well as on the top, that way I get some when I finish the ice cream also!
Kelsey Thorn, Design and Media Team Associate, Skidmore College

I go to school at Bucknell, which is in Lewisburg, PA. Lewisburg is famous for three things: my college, the state penitentiary and our ice cream shop, The Freeze. My favorite order is a small vanilla freeze (kind of like a Frostie) with bananas, peanut butter and a chocolate fudge core. There is literally nothing better on a humid Lewisburg summer day — it’s heaven in a cup!
Jenni Whalen, Contributing Writer, Bucknell University

Chocolate ice cream mixed in with peanut butter and hot fudge! (Or Chocolate Peanut Butter ice cream if they have it!) It’s absolutely to die for, and literally puts me in heaven every single time!
– Krista Evans, Campus Correspondent, Simmons College

Chocolate peanut butter from Haagen Dazs, it is the hands-down best mass-produced ice cream. I love the little tiny single-serving cartons, they are the PERFECT size for a hot afternoon! And you don’t even need toppings.
Giselle Boresta, Campus Correspondent/Intern, Barnard College

I love traditional vanilla ice cream with an assortment of toppings: cookie dough, peanut butter cups, strawberries, and bananas. I also love Birthday Cake Remix from Coldstone!
Erica Avesian, Contributing Writer, University of Michigan
