HC Abroad: The world is a book, and those who do not travel only read a page

London has been kind to me, readers, so very kind!

This week it was kind enough to not rain all day every day, which I greatly appreciated. I’m feeling the lack of vitamin D, but I’ll be getting a healthy dose of it soon! This week was finals so in between ‘studying’ I would take advantage of the nice weather and just go and walk outside. I truly love the parks around London. We live about a block from Primrose Hill so it’s a wonderful stroll. However, this temporary bout of nice weather has made me realize something rather important…

I’m doing to DIE when I get home.

It was 60 degrees here and sunny, just a measly 60 degrees!, and I was sweating and taking off layers and putting my hair up like it was 90 degrees! Which it is at home. So, yes, I am going to die. It is some big cosmic joke that I now think 60 degrees is ‘hot’. Oh boy.

In other unrelated weather news, I look like a vampire. I would make Edward Cullen proud. But that is beside the point.

This is my last full week in London and it is going to be a bittersweet week. I can’t believe I have actually lived here for four months. Like, a whole four months. I would like to think I’ve become a full-fledged Londoner, but I’m not totally sure I have, which is ok! At least I’m a step above the tourists. It took me some time to become of with it, but it really just means I have to come back!

Over these four months, I have had so many adventures, not only in London but around Europe. I have learned so much about myself and the world, it’s been an incredible journey and I can’t wait to apply my new life skills to my ‘old’ life. I am a lot more competent at travelling then I thought I was and I have a new philosophy on travelling and situations I can’t control in general. Which has been tested this semester, believe me!

This next week is going to be full of strolling and absorbing and having a little bit of quiet time and a lot of loud, laughing time! It’s going to be a week of celebration. And then it is back home to sunny San Diego; going back to real life again. Sigh. It’s been so fun to live in this land of dreams!

But I’ve made a promise to myself that I will be back London, and I’m going to be working on it all summer and next year to figure out how. I have the travel bug big time!

So next week is my last post and it will be a love letter to London full of cheese and sentimentality. It’s going to be a doozy. I’ll try not to cry too much as I write it.

It’s been fun dear readers, stick with me for one last week!

Cheers,

Paige
