Hello Collegiettes!

This week is the second to last week of my internship, so things have been hectic as I am finishing up the projects I have been working on during this phase. Also as I mentioned last week, friend visiting time/traveling time has commenced thus my already busy schedule has somehow become even busier.

One of my favorite parts this week was a wonderful walk that I took with two of my close friends here in London. Kelsey and I met Emily at the Vauxhill Tube Station, and we walked from Vauxhill, along the Thames to Battersea Park. First of all Battersea Park is now one of my favorite places in the world—it’s huge, it’s absolutely beautiful, and probably one of the peaceful places I have ever been. After walking in the park for a bit we crossed over the Albert Bridge through Chelsea and back home. In total we walked about five miles, but it was such beautiful walk through diverse areas of London.

Friday, My friend and Fordham roommate Emily arrived from Edinburgh (a different Emily from the previous mentioned one, confusing I know!) Saturday we went to Camden markets, and about 10 other markets in the area where we tested out our haggling skills (not the best success), but the fun part of the day, was that I got my nose pierced! It was a somewhat spontaneous decision, but something I have wanted for a long time, and Other Emily was very supportive, taking before and after pictures for me and all! Saturday night Emily and I met up with a third roommate Hallie who is also studying London, and we all sat down for typical pub dinner.

Sunday, I took Emily back to Battersea park, because I wanted to share with her my wonderful discovery. After walking around the park for a bit, we decided to go to the children’s zoo! (Yes, we were the oldest people there that didn’t have children, We were fine with it.) Then we grabbed sandwiches and sat out eating on the park lawn. Later in the afternoon we went to Mass at Westminster. Overall it was a great visit, and I was exhausted by the time she left!

Now, my friend Maria is here! She arrived this morning from the states, and we leave tomorrow for Paris! Next week I will be sure to fill you in on all the happenings in Paris before leaving for Florence and Barcelona and few days later! It will be a crazy few weeks but I will definitely keep you updated when I can!

Until Next Time,
Emily
