Her Campus Tours with Bing this summer: Final Stop, NYC!
Windsor, Annie and Stephanie, the founders of Her Campus, and the rest of the E-team (yours truly), Chelsea, Brittany and Jake all had a great time in NYC on Monday! We celebrated the new Bing at the uber chic Double Seven Lounge in the city that never sleeps! HCers and friends who joined us enjoyed the free food and beats from DJ Deaf and took some glam shots, putting the vast array of fun props to good use.
Several attendees were lucky enough to take home cool items we were giving away that night, like the new Windows phone, a Lenovo laptop and an Xbox 360! This party in NYC was the final Get Social party hosted by Bing and HC! We went out with a big Bing – ha! Get it?

Her Campus Tours with Bing this Summer: Second Stop, Atlanta!
Oh, Hello! Last week Windsor and I made stop two of three on Her Campus’s #NewBing tour! We ventured to Hotlanta to catch some rays and party with HC’s ATL following. We had a fabulous time at the ultra-chic, ultra fun, aptly stated Koo Koo Room. With passed apps, delicious cocktails, hot beats, and a great crowd (including my personal favorite, @arjanwrites) the party was a total success!
If you missed out, your loss. Just kidding…
Lucky for you, there is one more party left in NYC. The HC Exec team (including the co-founders, woot woot) will be in NYC at the Double Seven Lounge on July 9th from 7-9 pm. RSVP here before its too late as space is super limited. Yes, we’re that popular! ;)

Her Campus Tours with Bing this Summer: First Stop, LA!
Taylor (Her Campus’s Marketing Services Manager) and I just returned from a whirlwind trip out to Los Angeles for the first stop of our Get Social with Bing summer tour! We left at the crack of dawn last Wednesday and were back on the redeye Friday night/Saturday morning.
HC is touring the country with Bing to celebrate the launch of the new Bing experience! Not familiar with the new Bing yet? Let me break it down for you; Bing now combines the best of search with recommendations from friends and experts on Facebook and Twitter. It’s still the search you know and love, but much better and much more social. If you want more details, read Annie’s article with all the deets below.
Our LA party was hosted at a super swanky joint in Hollywood called Hemingway’s Lounge. We packed the place with more than 100 collegiettes and collegiette companions (A.K.A. boys), and had a fantastic time sipping Bingtinis (real thing!), snacking on delish passed munchies, test-driving the new Bing experience, and socializing, obvi. Over the course of the evening we hosted Twitter contests utilizing the hashtag #newBing. Winners won everything from a fab new Xbox 360, to a baller Windows phone, to a bangin’ Ultrabook.

Her Campus Co-Founder and CPO, Annie Wang Reviews the New Bing!
With summer right around the corner, I’m just itching to go vacation somewhere gorgeous, warm, and peaceful with my girlfriends! As we were discussing our various options, the conversation went something like this: “I know someone who snorkeled an amazing reef in Hawaii!” and “My friend couldn’t stop raving about this one club in Cancun!”
That’s because when we make decisions, we rely on our friends to give us their experience-based advice, recommendations, and expertise that we trust and value. So let me rock your world a little bit, collegiettes, cause you’re about to do all this with a ton more power!

So what is the new Bing all about? When I did a search for “Hawaii” on Bing.com/new, here’s the new results page, with a handy right sidebar displaying relevant content my Facebook friends have posted about Hawaii:
In the “Friends Who Might Know” section, it looks like I have a couple friends who have lived in Hawaii before (based on information in their Facebook profiles), plus some others who have posted pictures of their vacations in Hawaii. Bingo!
When I hover over Chelsea Evans (Her Campus’s Manager of Operations!), I can see the photo she took on a beach in Hawaii. Nice! Now, even better than making a mental note to ask her about her top beach picks, I can share my search as a post on Facebook and notify Chelsea that I’d love to hear her tips! She gets a Facebook message linking to my post, and we can collaborate on the search by adding links from my other Bing search results into the conversation, too! Plus, the Facebook integration will allow any of my other friends to join in the fun and add their two cents as well.
Below this block of results from my Facebook friends, Bing has a “People Who Know” section — a compiled bunch of relevant and timely content from experts across Twitter!
Finally, the “Activity” section underneath displays everything that my friends are up to with the new Bing, like the shared searches that they’ve made. (Of course, all searches are private until made social by posting them to Facebook.) Since the new Bing is brand new, I don’t have anything in my Activity feed (yet).
