Bing vs. Google in Bing It On Challenge

Do you Bing or do you Google? Bing, Microsoft’s search engine for people who are “always doing more and don’t have time to sit still” is challenging Google to a “side-by-side search off” in which you can determine your favorite!

Most people may say they prefer Google, but recent research tells a different story. In March 2012, Answers Research conducted an independent study commissioned by Microsoft in which blind comparison tests were used to compare Bing and Google web search results. The research found that people preferred Bing’s results to Google’s nearly 2 to 1! It seems that Bing may have surpassed Google in quality, but you can see for yourself with the Bing It On Challenge. Simply go to bingiton.com, type in five random search queries (Ryan Reynolds? Fall internships? Jimmy Choo boots?), and compare the two side-by-side results windows that appear. You won’t know which list is Bing’s and which is Google’s. Choose a winner or declare a draw for each of the five rounds, and then the test will tell you which search engine you really prefer.

Don’t forget to share the Bing It On challenge via Facebook, Twitter, and Google+! You can follow Bing it On on the Bing Facebook page, @Bing Twitter handle, and Twitter hashtag #bingiton. If you tweet your results you’ll also have a shot at winning a huge box of Microsoft gadgets, including a Microsoft Surface, Windows 8, Xbox 360 with Kinect and Xbox Live, Windows Phone and more! The sweepstakes ends October 18, so Bing It On!
