15 Things You Should Never Say to a Journalism Major

If you’re a journalism major, you’ve probably dealt with a lot of criticism throughout your time in college. If you’re not a journalism major, listen up, because these are things you should never say to us:

1. Journalism is a dying field.

2. That’s an easy major.

3. Newspapers are so boring.

4. You actually like writing?

5. You can’t make a living out of that!

6. Journalism is all politics.

7. All media are biased.

8. No one reads the news anyway.

9. Is that like The Devil Wears Prada?

10. It’s going to be hard for you to get a job.

11. Can you write an article about…

12. How do you read so much?

13. You aren’t going to make a lot of money.

14. Do you get to meet famous people?

15. Why wouldn’t you major in something like business?

To all the journalism majors out there: we feel you, girl.
