Lose the Freshman 15: No more waffles, please!

This is a sponsored feature. All opinions are 100% from Her Campus.

Hey again collegiettes™!

This has been such a busy, busy week—midterms are coming up and I’m pretty sure I studied for so long last night that my eyes began to cross. TGIF, for real!

Well, stressing over passing my exams isn’t the only problem on my mind. For the past week, I’ve been eating two whole wheat waffles with a half of a banana. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a yummy breakfast; I’m just getting tired of making and eating the same breakfast every day! 1283295 59579999

I can bake but I can’t cook, but also don’t have the patience, energy or time to wake up to make something else. I’m definitely not craving a huge breakfast since I’ve never been an egg, waffles, bacon, toast and more kind of girl, but I’m in need some filling, fast, easy, and most importantly delicious.

Earlier this week Kerry, a reader, commented saying that one of her quick and health-conscious breakfast fixes was Quaker Instant Oatmeal when she’s short on time. “It comes in individual serving pouches and takes less than 2 min. in the microwave,” she said. photo

However, on my first day of the diet I ate a bowl of brown sugar oatmeal and another reader, Alison, left a comment that read: “Sorry but wit that eating plan your weight isn’t going anywhere…Brown sugar oatmeal? Please. Try hone or fresh fruit like bananas or blueberries. I swear, you won’t miss the brown sugar.”

So, I took their suggestions and headed out to the store to pick up items for the SELF’s Jump Start Diet, including the plain instant oatmeal. Of course, there was only brown sugar and some gross flavors available so Cream of Wheat caught my eye—especially because Jillian Michaels, the creator of the diet, was on the box! Hey, if it’s Jillian-approved then I’m all for it.

I chose to eat my bowl o’ cream of wheat with some strawberries. Love, love, love! It was so good and very filling actually.

I’ll definitely need variety in my breakfast meals. Please share some more of what you normally eat for a quick and easy health-conscious breakfast, and check out all of the “Lose the Freshman 15” blogs!

Love,

Ally
