Jane’s Romance Novel on ‘Jane the Virgin’ Is Actually Being Published

One of the reasons why I love Gina Rodriguez’s title character on Jane the Virgin is that Jane is a budding author. In my book, you can never have too many writers on TV. Now in an act of life imitating fiction, Jane’s book Snow Falling will actually be published, HelloGiggles reports.

The novel came about on the show as a way for Jane to remember her lost love Michael. Taking place in 1900s Miami, the story is inspired by the characters’ relationship, but what with being a historical romance, it also explores elements that Jane and Michael never faced together. After seeing viewers’ response to the plotline, Adams Media, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, bought the romance novel to publish in the real world through the fictional company Lorden + Gregor. We can expect to see Snow Falling in bookstores by Nov. 14, 2017, which makes it a perfect Christmas gift.

“I’m so thrilled that Adams Media as Lorden + Gregor is bringing Jane’s first novel to life and I can’t wait for fans to get to read it!” said Jane the Virgin showrunner Jennie Urman in a press release. “Prepare to get swept up in an epic love story.”

Mashable even released an excerpt of the book, giving readers a sneak peek at the story that promises “a time of railroad tycoons, hotel booms and exciting expansion for The Magic City.” While romance author Caridad Pineiro actually wrote the book, Snow Falling will be credited to the fictional Jane Villanueva, maintaining the vision that readers are in the same universe as the show’s characters.

With less than a month to go until this book release, I can’t wait to read “Jane’s” debut novel.
