Galentine’s Day: 6 Movies To Watch With Your BFF For The Ultimate GNI

While everyone is making plans to go out with their significant other on Valentine’s Day, you should never EVER forget your BFFs in this month of love. With Galentine’s Day just around the corner (February 13), it’s the perfect time to spend it with your friends watching these classic films.

1. Mean Girls

This early 2000s rom-com is a must-watch with your BFFs. I mean, Mean Girls is so iconic, it’s seeped into today’s pop culture and even made an appearance in Ariana Grande’s “thank u, next” music video.

Starring Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfried, Tina Fey, and an appearance by “cool mom” Amy Poehler, Mean Girls is definitely on my list of movies to watch this Galentine’s Day.

2. Wonder Woman

Female director? Check. Badass female protagonist? Check.

Wonder Woman is such a great film to get you and your BFFs feeling empowered, and a great reminder that nothing can stand in your way—not even the patriarchy.

3. Clueless

How could I not include Clueless? As if!

This ’90s film is amazing, and even 20+ years later, it’s still hilarious and relatable. Clueless stars Alicia Silverstone, Stacey Dash, Brittany Murphy (R.I.P.), and Paul Rudd (who just never seems to age).

4. To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before

Adapted from Jenny Han’s novel, this romantic comedy took Netflix by storm in 2018—and with good reason.

This is a great film to watch with your BFFs to appreciate Asian representation, Laura Jean’s cute outfits, and perhaps swoon over Peter Kavinsky.

5. Legally Blonde

We owe Legally Blonde for many famous moments, like teaching us the “bend and snap” and giving us quotes like “If I’m going to be a partner in a law firm by the time I’m 30, I’m going to need a boyfriend who’s not such a bonehead.” This is a perfect film to watch as a reminder that we girls can do anything we want if we really put our mind to it and stick with each other.

6. Bridesmaids

A rom-com with a full female cast who are all incredibly hilarious? Yes, PLEASE.

Bridesmaids—featuring Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Melissa McCarthy, Rose Byrne, Ellie Kemper, and Wendi McLendon-Covey—reminds us of the importance of friendship and really being there for each other.
