You Can Now Get Instagram-Inspired Hair Color

Hair trends come and go, but the latest hair fix might be the strangest we’ve seen. Collegiettes have probably heard of hair chalking, or pastel mermaid hair, but you’ve probably never come across Instagram-inspired hair color. That’s right; Wella Professionals just launched a crazy new in-salon hair color line called Instamatic.

Whereas normal semi-permanent dyes or dip-dying is meant to create a vivid splash of color, Instamatic offers up a much more subtle look. The color is fused with Wella’s Color i.d., which allows different strands of hair to be painted without bleeding. The possibilities are virtually endless!

Choose from the line’s five muted shades to give your ‘do a soft hint of color without the high maintenance. Jennifer J., color ambassador for Wella, told Refinery 29 that the application will change depending on hair type. “If you use it on dry hair, you’ll get a brighter hue,” she said, adding, “wet hair will yield a more diluted look. Either way, it still has a really, soft pastel feel, and a matte texture.” Instagram vibes IRL sounds too cool to be true. Excuse us while we set up a hair appointment.
