TikTok Is Obsessed With Tarayummy & So Am I

We’ve all heard of the black cat aesthetic; it’s like looking at the cool, slightly edgy main character from your favorite Disney movie, like Lindsay Lohan’s character, Anna, in Freaky Friday. With every generation comes a new cool black cat aesthetic girl, and the latest seems to be YouTuber and TikToker Tarayummy.

Tarayummy, otherwise known as Tara Thompson, has amassed more than 1 million YouTube subscribers and Instagram followers, and more than 5 million TikTok followers. Her feed definitely gives off the ultimate cool girl persona, but what else do we know about Miss Tarayummy?

Tara has appeared on multiple episodes of the Dropouts podcast, which is hosted by Zach Justice, Indiana Massara, and Jared Bailey. She’s also friends with Tana Mongeau, so here’s to hoping she’ll be on Tana’s podcast next.

Before her rise to TikTok fame, Tara appeared in multiple YouTube videos with some of the platform’s most popular creators, like JC Caylen and Kian Lawley. Both Caylen and Lawley were formerly part of an organization of YouTubers called O2L, Our Second Life, Tara admitted that she was a fan of the group and it ultimately helped influence her into starting her own account.

Aside from social media, Tara is also a standup comedian. She booked her first show at Flappers Comedy Club in Burbank in May 2022, she received an overwhelmingly positive response with a sold-out crowd. She also had her own standup comedy tour from January to March 2023 called the Selling Myself Short tour.

Who Is Tarayummy Dating?

To complete her ultimate black cat aesthetic, Tara dated Jake Webber, a music artist who compliments Tara’s borderline grunge style, until August 2023. But it seems like they’re still close friends as it doesn’t take too much of a scroll to find photos of them together on either of their socials. However, it looks like Tara is single at the moment.

Clearly, Tarayummy is making waves on multiple platforms and in the comedy world. I don’t know where we’ll see her next, but I can’t help but say I love seeing another former O2L fan thrive in the social media world.
