Alabama Barker, the daughter of Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and future stepdaughter of Kourtney Kardashian, is rock (and Hollywood) royalty. Barker has been social media famous from a young age and was literally born into fame. While she’s had a popular YouTube channel since 2016, where she posted things like “Trying Japanese Candy” and the very daughter-of-a-rock-star “Room Tour: Tour Bus Edition,” Barker stopped uploading to it three years ago. Since then, she’s grown up, rebranded herself, and expanded to other social media platforms.

Now, she’s stepping into her own and making a name for herself in the entertainment world. Between TikTok, brand collaborations, music, and more, Barker does it all (she describes herself as an “entrepreneur” on Instagram, which isn’t too far off). Most recently, the 16-year-old has been named the newest ambassador for the clothing brand Pretty Little Thing. As her Instagram bio says, Alabama Barker is the “youngest in charge,” and she has all the makings of a Gen Z social media star. Here’s all you need to know about the up-and-coming influencer.

She’s a Capricorn.

Alabama Barker was born on December 24, 2005, making her a Capricorn – AKA the most hard-working and ambitious zodiac sign. Caps are masters of the hustle, and based on the fact that she’s a jack of all trades, the sun sign is extremely fitting for Barker.

Barker’s name was inspired by a movie character.

According to IMDB, Barker was named after the character Alabama Whitman from the 1993 Quentin Tarantino movie True Romance — her father’s favorite film. In the movie, Whitman (played by Patricia Arquette) is a self-confident prostitute who dreams of a better life. Caring and optimistic, she falls in love with a client and tries to escape her life as a sex worker.

Her mother is famous, too.

Alabama Barker’s mom is none other than actress, model, and reality TV star Shanna Moakler, who starred in The Wedding Singer (1998) and Back Stabber (2016) and won Miss New York in 1995. Barker has two older siblings; Landon Barker (18), and Atiana De La Hoya (23, her half-sibling and the child of Moakler and boxer Oscar De La Hoya).

barker is a musician like her dad.

Following in her dad’s footsteps, Alabama Barker released her first song, “Our House,” in 2017. Since then, she’s dropped multiple other tracks and was even featured on the track “She’s Out Of Her Mind” by Blink-182 from their 2016 album California

She’s popular on TikTok.

Barker already has 1.9M followers on TikTok, with videos ranging from fun dances to reaction videos featuring her dad and fashion hauls. Of course, the Kardashian kids occasionally make surprise appearances in her videos, too.

Barker technically made her reality TV debut in 2005.

Her family’s reality show, Meet The Barkers, ran for two seasons on MTV. Since it premiered and ended the year she was born, Alabama Barker made one appearance as a newborn baby.

She’s close with her soon-to-be stepmom.

On April 18, Barker posted an Instagram story for Kardashian’s birthday, calling her the “best soon-to-be stepmom I could ask for,” and added, “you deserve the world.” The two have been seen at Disneyland together, and Barker even shares Kardashian’s closet

Barker is an advocate for animal rights.

Alabama Barker has been vegan since 2021 and is vocal about her love for animals. In 2017, she even starred in a PETA campaign with her dad called “Make some noise for animals.”

She’s passionate about makeup and fashion.

Not only is Barker partnering with Pretty Little Thing on a Y2K-inspired line, but she’s also releasing her very own makeup line soon, which she announced in an April 2022 Instagram Livestream. Known for her glam looks, Barker has even posted a video in which she does her dad’s makeup.

It’s clear that Alabama Barker is a Gen Z starlet to watch. Already a multi-hyphenate at the age of sixteen, she has everything it takes to be Gen Z’s next favorite influencer. Watch for new music from her soon (as she hinted about on TikTok), her upcoming makeup collection, and a relaunch of her YouTube channel.
