Wait no longer, Princess Diaries fans—a third installment could be in the making soon!
“I was with Anne Hathaway a couple weeks ago, it looks like we want to do Princess Diaries 3 in Manhattan,” Director Garry Marshall told PEOPLE. “Anne Hathaway is very pregnant, so we have to wait until she has the baby and then I think we’re going to do it.”
Fortunately, Chris Pine is on board to reprise his role, too. When asked by a fan whether he was hoping for another film, he responded, “Have you been reading my diary?”
It would be cruel to tease us like this and not make the movie, so we’re going to go ahead and consider this a formal confirmation that the third movie is on its way. It’s long overdue!
