The Weeknd Was Reportedly the One Who Broke Things Off With Selena Gomez, & Now I Have Even More Questions

The shocking news of Selena Gomez and The Weeknd’s split has been on everyone’s mind, especially with the constant reports that Sel has been hanging out with ex Justin Bieber again. Now, TMZ is claiming it was The Weeknd who called it quits.

Though the couple’s breakup just came out earlier this week, The Weeknd and Selena have reportedly been having issues with their busy schedules since the summer, so The Weeknd called Selena to end things, saying it “was no longer working for him,” TMZ reports. Once again, Justin is allegedly not the reason the relationship ended. I guess it’s fair to end a relationship you aren’t happy with, but it all just seemed to happen so fast.

How is Selena handling the breakup? Us Weekly claims that though she did love The Weeknd, Justin has always remained in her heart. “Selena was happy with [The Weeknd],” a source told the magazine. “Justin always had her heart and attention. He was always her soulmate and her one true love. Selena and Justin realized it was time to grow past their history and move on. They’ve grown up a lot in the past couple of years and are mature about the situation.”

So is Jelena rising once again? “It’s definitely a possibility that they could get back together,” the source said. “It’ll be a long situation and there won’t be a decision made tomorrow, and it’ll be a lot of back and forth, but ultimately, [their] friends think it will end up in that direction.”

Well, isn’t all of this interesting? I think we’ll just have to sit back and see how it all unfolds. Whatever happens, I hope both The Weeknd and Selena are happy. That’s what matters most.
