VIDEO: We Have Our First Look at Disney’s Newest Princess, Moana

The fierce Mulan, graceful Pocahontas and daring Rapunzel all showed us what bravery is, and Disney’s newest princess, Moana is no exception to the influential cast of female role models.

CBR trailers’ most recent preview offers hints at the picture’s exciting plot line, which follows her journey to complete a quest her ancestors started.

Played by 14-year-old Pacific Island native, Auli’I Cravalho, Disney’s youngest princess proves that even the youngest souls can teach us how to overcome life’s obstacles.

Set to release on November 23, 2016, this flick will be the perfect cinematic treat to kick off the holiday season. Can’t wait that long? Neither can we. Luckily, Disney understands our passion for female empowerment and has graciously agreed to release short behind-the-scenes segments to ease, or maybe even tease, our curiosities.

30 seconds of animation later and we already know that Moana will be Pixar’s biggest Polynesian crush to date. Drawn with olive skin, dark hair and full brows, this 15-year-old bronze beauty is totally fearless.

Let Moana’s bold nature to leave her small island home and explore new horizons be a lesson to us all. The places beyond the confines of our comfort zones offer scenes and self-realizations waiting for us to explore, but it takes faith, persistence and confidence to get us there.

Although we may not run into “enormous sea creatures, underworlds and ancient folklores” in our own personal lives, Moana’s triumph against tricky trails and tribulations throughout her journey teach us that learning how to dance in the rain is as important as reaching your desired destination.
