New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie says President Trump made him order meatloaf when he and his wife had lunch at the White House on Tuesday.
The Associated Press reports Christie and his wife, Mary Pat, joined Trump to discuss the nation’s opioid epidemic during the lunch. The real story arose when it came time to order.
According to the Huffington Post, Christie was trending on Twitter late Thursday, but not because of the opioid epidemic discussed at lunch. It was because Trump told everyone else to order whatever they wanted from the menu but said he and Christie were going to have the meatloaf.
“That’s what it’s like to be with Trump,” Christie said while guest-hosting a New York-based sports radio show on Thursday. “He says, ‘There’s the menu, you guys order whatever you want.’ And then he says, ‘Chris, you and I are going to have the meatloaf.”
And the internet hilariously responded, as expected.
