I made a huge decision: To move from New York City – right near where I grew up in New Jersey to Los Angeles. Away from most of my friends, my family and the life I’d always known. But I wanted a change. I needed to push myself and this is how I was going to do it.
So I made a list of all the things I need to accomplish before I left New York City. I wanted to visit Ithaca, NY, I wanted to eat a long list of restaurants I’d been meaning to go to like Beauty & Essex, I wanted to spend lots of time with my godson, I wanted to go on an adventure with my little sister around NJ, I wanted to do things in New York City that people who live here do – not the kind of things I’d have time to do as a visitor. I wanted to eat lots of bagels and pizza, and walk in Central Park.
I wanted to leave New York City with no regrets.
So I set off on my list. My friend Jackie helped tackle the restaurant list — visiting hotspots like Juliet Supperclub with me. My friend Rachel was my partner for going to glamorous New York City events and hopping around in cabs too late at night. My sister Devon was up for anything and everything – and still is. Friends were enlisted for long walks up and down 5th Avenue and across Central Park. I am blessed to have such people in my life to help me with my leap list as I embark on this crazy journey.
With every thing I crossed off on my leap list, I felt more and more ready for my move.
So…here goes nothing.
