Great news, Swifties: If you didn’t get tickets to see Taylor Swift live in concert during her Eras Tour, you’ll soon be able to experience the history-making show on the big screen! Swift announced on Aug. 31 that her new concert film, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, will be hitting AMC Theatres this October — and yes, tickets are now on sale! There’s even going to be new Eras Tour merch being sold, and I’m not OK.
Swift fans are going to want to get their hands on The Eras Tour concert film merch. Some of the merch is free — like the mini poster you’ll get when you purchase a ticket to the film (but it’s only while supplies last). Others you can buy in the theater, like an Eras Tour-themed popcorn tub for $14.99 and a cup for $11.99. Again, this is only while supplies last, so it’ll probably be best for you to see this film on opening night because it’s likely this merch will go fast.
Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour will be in AMC Theatres beginning Oct. 13. Tickets for the film can be bought online. When you go to the AMC Theatres website, you’ll be automatically put into a queue where you’ll be asked to enter your location. Then, you’ll see the available showtimes at theaters near you. Though some people have been experiencing issues accessing the website to purchase tickets, AMC anticipated this and has “bolstered its ticket server capacity to handle traffic at more than 5 times the current record for the most ever tickets sold in an hour.”
ICYMI, Swift announced the film in a cute Instagram post shared on Aug. 31. Along with a video highlighting the magical moments that occurred during The Eras Tour, the singer wrote in the caption, “The Eras Tour has been the most meaningful, electric experience of my life so far and I’m overjoyed to tell you that it’ll be coming to the big screen soon 😆 Starting Oct 13th, you’ll be able to experience the concert film in theaters in North America! Tickets are on sale now at amctheatres.com. Eras attire, friendship bracelets, singing and dancing encouraged 🫶 1, 2, 3 LGB!!!! (iykyk)”
Now some are probably wondering: will Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour be available to stream at a later date? So far, there’s no word on if the film will move onto a streaming platform after leaving theaters. But given the fact that both Swift’s Reputation Tour concert film and her 2020 documentary, Miss Americana were in partnership with Netflix, there’s a little hope we’ll be able to watch this new film in the comfort of your home one day.
But until then, I will happily swap friendship bracelets with fellow Swifties while we experience The Eras Tour in the theater!
