Sriracha-Flavored Yogurt is Coming Your Way

Usually when we think of food pairings, we think of peanut butter and jelly, chips and dip, burger and fries—food #relationshipgoals, if you will. Well, there may be a new love affair on the horizon with the arrival of Chobani’s newest 2016 yogurt flavors: Savory and sweet…in yogurt?

Chobani is known for its “flip” flavor combos, in which yogurt is packaged on one side of the container while crunchy nuts, chocolate chips, etc. lie on the other side to be flipped into the yogurt by bending the cup. Refinery29 reports that the Greek yogurt company is producing two new flavors: Sriracha Mango and Chipotle Pineapple. Sriracha and chipotle will introduce a very different sweet-and-spicy dynamic to the always simple yogurt. These flavors will have their respective “flip-in” toppings, including Sriracha-toasted rice crisps, roasted cashews, chipotle granola, pumpkin seeds and more. One of the reasons Chobani is implementing these new yogurt flavors is wanting to reflect of millennials’ food choices. According to Refinery29, market research firm Mintel says that “80% of Millennials are interested in more peppers/chilies/spices in their foods.”

While we have to wait until the new year to try these new yogurt combinations, looking forward to them makes finals go by a little faster!
