These Spotify Wrapped Memes Have Me Cackling

Nov. 29 marked the release of Spotify Wrapped 2023, better known as the Super Bowl for music enthusiasts. On this highly-anticipated special occasion, everyone and their mother were busy posting their top five songs and artists of the year. People’s wide range of reactions to each other’s final statistics — and their own — was my primary source of entertainment. But the Spotify Wrapped memes that are circulating through social media have been the highlight of my entire year!

Many users have since taken to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share some clever memes about Spotify Wrapped. From people roasting the annual campaign to sharing their total listening minutes, quite a few of these memes are making me snort-laugh because of their realness. Here are some of the best ones I’ve found!

THE EXTREMELY SPECIFIC OBSESSIONS

The biggest surprise of some users’ Wrapped statistics isn’t what they listened to, but for how long. There are 525,600 minutes in a year  — a little fun fact I only know because of the musical Rent, but I digress — and they managed to spend most of them listening to the same artist.

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m guilty of staying hyper-focused on only a few singers in this way. But even then, this is one of my favorite brands of memes.

My Top 5 Moods

So far, many people have been sharing their top 5 artists or songs they’ve listened to throughout the year. But others took things up a notch by revealing their top 5 moods of 2023, and TBH, they’re super relatable — especially if you’re a Gen Zer.

2023 Was Taylor Swift’s Year

Now that Taylor Swift’s been named the most-streamed global artist of the year, I now know that I wasn’t the only one playing her music 24/7.

WHEN YOU’RE GOING THROUGH IT

Listen, 2023 was a year full of emotions for a lot of people. Many went through it these past few months and music was always there to save the day. So, if you had that one song on repeat while you were going through a breakup, don’t feel ashamed.

The internet really outdid itself this year with the Spotify Wrapped memes! Though I’ve been enjoying the serious posts from earnest music lovers, the memes have just been too good to ignore — but ngl, I expected nothing less.

Happy Spotify Wrapped, everyone!
