Snow-Covered Romance!

Well, 9 months ago, today, I went on a blind date. I went ONLY expecting a free meal, and here I am, nine months later, just as crazy for a guy I fell absolutely head-over-heels for in five minutes on a blind date.

I know, it’s weird… it’s unlikely… but it happened to me. It really was love at first sight–ask my friend Torie–I called her immediately after that blind date to tell her I met the one. And here I am, 9 months later, in NYC, celebrating Valentine’s Day with him. I’m the luckiest girl on Earth!

WOW. Okay, Chandler, enough with the sappy-sap-sap… sorry, guys… it must be the Valentine’s candy leaving my system!! haha

But now that I’ve gotten that off my chest, I want to tell y’all about the fun weekend I had with Franklin!!

Franklin got in late Thursday evening because all the snow in Dallas delayed his trip. It was okay, though, because I had started to feel really sick throughout the week, and it gave me a chance to just chill while I sat around waiting for his plane to arrive!

On Friday, I went to work the EARLY shift–6am-noon. When I was done with work, Frank and I went over to eat at my FAVORITE little gluten-free Pan-Asian Cuisine place then we walked over to the SNOW-COVERED Central Park! It was beautiful and so romantic! After strolling (or sliding) through the park, we walked up 5th Avenue, walked through Times Square, saw Rockefeller Plaza and went home to change before the evening’s festivities–I had surprised him with two tickets to Phantom of the Opera! So we ate dinner and ran to the theater for the show!

On Saturday, I still wasn’t feeling well, so our plans to seriously walk the city were shaken a little. We ended up having brunch down in the East Village and then walking around, looking at the shops in SoHo before heading home to rest. Later that evening, we went to see the movie Valentine’s Day–SO CUTE!! And we picked up dinner at Whole Foods on the way home–I passed out early… that cough was REALLY bad!

On Valentine’s Day, Franklin and I started off the day with Starbucks and church! Then we went up to Midtown and grabbed lunch at a family favorite–Jackson Hole! After lunch, we stopped by Serendipity for some frozen hot chocolate (A MUST DO IN NYC, in my opinion!!) We checked out Bloomingdales and then headed home because–ONCE AGAIN–I felt horrible. That night, Franklin cooked a meal for me, and we sat on the floor of my living room and just talked. He’s so wonderful!

… oops. the sap again. Maybe it’s the cough syrup.

Anyways, I’m headed to the doctor today… I had the most wonderful time this Valentine’s Day!! (Even though I felt sick!)
I’ll let y’all know if it’s serious–I think it’s just a sinus infection or something.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!
