The Situation is Facing 15 Years in Prison for Tax Fraud Amid ‘Jersey Shore Family Vacation’ Reunion

It looks like one of the stars of Jersey Shore is in a bit of a situation. Michael Sorrentino, also known as Mike ‘The Situation’ from the reality show is facing 15 years in prison for tax fraud. Sorrentino and his brother Marc have agreed to plead guilty in court on Friday. Mike will be facing 15 years and his brother will be facing up to 25 years.

Apparently the duo originally rejected the offer, but now, they’re going with it. The brothers are in this position after avoiding paying all of the federal income tax on the $8.9 million they earned between 2010 and 2012. Other charges include structuring and falsifying records. The Sorrentinos had multiple bank accounts for their cash deposits to avoid reporting them to the IRS. According to People, when Mike was arrested, he said the allegations, “do not portray me accurately. That’s all I can say for now.”

The legal trouble Mike is facing right now could mess up the plans for Jersey Shore Family Vacation, an MTV reunion series, which is in the works for sometime this year. We won’t know what will happen until Sorrentino’s prison time is officially handed to him. Maybe the series will have to simply go on without him.
