Serena Williams Just Gave Meghan Markle The Best Wedding Advice & TBH, This Is The Kind Of Friend Everyone Needs

Boss woman, tennis star, and total sweetheart Serena Williams recently handed out some endearing wedding advice to friend Meghan Markle as the former Suits star’s Royal Wedding day approaches on May 19th.

Williams and Markle met at a charity football game back in 2014, so it’s been four years of friendship between these two totally inspiring women.

In an interview on Good Morning America this week, Williams spoke about Markle and passed along a few words of advice for the soon-to-be royal bride. After praising Markle, Williams got down to the serious business.

“I just think it’s so important to enjoy the moment. And eat the cake—I didn’t get to eat mine at the wedding. We were just having so much fun,” Williams exclaimed.

While eating the cake might not seem like an important task to do on your big day, apparently it’s a must. We can’t forget about the little things in the midst of all of the bigger things. After all, Williams does know best. She wed Reddit co-founder, Alexis Ohanian, in November 2017, and has been busy enjoying married life.

She kicked off her wedding with an elaborate ceremony in true Serena Williams fashion, which included guests like Kim Kardashian West, Beyonce, and Kelly Rowland. But since then, Williams has made it a point to celebrate her life with her husband even on the most random days.

Williams recently uploaded an Instagram post talking about “Selexis” day with her husband. Once a year, the couple goes all out to show their appreciation for each other, and just recently, Williams got to taste her wedding cake on Selexis day. Honestly, I’ve never heard of anything sweeter than that.

While it’s unclear if Williams will be attending the Royal Wedding due to possible tennis matches, she has a lot of love for Markle and excitement for her new life.
