It’s not really a secret that Selena Gomez’s family is less than thrilled about her reunion with ex Justin Bieber — but as it turns out, they may be a lot more upset about it than we thought. Case in point: Selena’s mother was reportedly hospitalized last week after the two had an argument over Selena’s relationship with Justin.
As TMZ reports, police were called to a Los Angeles hotel sometime last week for a welfare check on Selena’s mother, Mandy Teefey. She was later voluntarily transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
While they may or may not be related, sources told TMZ that Teefey’s hospitalization followed an argument with her daughter about her recent reunion with Justin. Selena had reportedly just revealed to her mother that she and Justin are currently undergoing couples therapy together, which caused Teefey to realize that the relationship between the on-again-off-again couple was more serious and long-term than she’d thought.
Teefey was later released from the hospital the same day, so hopefully it wasn’t anything serious — whatever the situation, we just hope she’s okay and that she and Selena can eventually work things out. Teefey is reportedly giving Selena some space to “figure out what she wants,” which is a great start.
